Bells & Whistles
First off, the site updates. If you look at the footer of this and every page you will notice a new widget. It’s a widget featuring Shelby’s very own personal Instagram account! (Yes, she actually has one.) I’m having a lot of fun with it and needed to find a way to show it here too so I’m glad I found the perfect widget to let me share the “photos” here as well. I also split the Promotional Art page into two separate pages. Now it’s two pages for Non-Spoiler Art and Spoiler Art which I believe is self-explanatory. Finally, I added a disclaimer to the footer below the copyright statement in the lower left corner. It just seemed prudent.
Oh, I finally was able to renew my Themify license and so I updated the site with lots of new bells and whistles to make it look even better and load way faster. So if you notices any changes, that’s why. 🙂
Now for the new Concept Art news! I updated the following Characters concept pages with new alternate variations: Shelby Bly, Robert Bly, Blair Nimway, and David Kingsley. You can also see the new images below just to be sure you don’t miss anything. 🙂 (The top row are all character variations from the Prologue.) Oh, I also added a brand new concept to the Props & Logos page; the new concept is the all-important Mapstones.
I updated some of the Promotional Art as well to reflect the recent changes to Shelby including her hairstyle. College Pals, A Matter of Trust, and Reluctant Heroine have all been redone. I’m currently reworking the old, spoilery artwork of Submerged and may rework one or two others before I’m done. The rest (in the Old Promo Art section of the Non-Spoilers page) I do not plan to rework and they will remain as-is for various reasons.
I think that’s everything that I’ve updated recently. I printed out the final draft of the story last night (printer stopped four times due to various reasons like out of paper or out of ink, etc.) and now I’m going to work on storyboards while I finish creating the concepts and assets for the novel. Once all that pre-production work is complete, I’ll be able to start work on the illustrations… finally. Stay tuned for more updates coming soon!
