Going Social
First off, before I forget, I updated the following character concept art pages with new alternate outfits: Shelby Bly and Joel Rio. I also updated/fixed the concept render for Maia Avanti. In regards to the last, I had to regrettably change her hair model because the previous one had no movement morphs. I also updated several various materials and shaders on the character and her outfit while I was at it.
I also added two brand new concept art pages for two logo concepts: Wander Magazine and GEEVA. Now you can learn a little more about each organization along with seeing each org’s logo concept.
New Promotional Art!! Well, sort of. These are both “redux” artworks of ones I did a year or more ago and decided they needed redoing. The new promo artworks are A Matter of Trust and College Pals. These promo artworks are not only a way to promote the novel in art galleries, but they also help me practice using the characters and other assets in a variety of ways. These two scenes in particular were great ways to practice working on my skills creating expressions and realistic eye movement. I’m going to work on more concept renders and assets now before I start on any more promotional art. That said, I do have more promotional art planned and on my to do list to be created soon.
Now for the news for which this post was named. Shelby has gone social as in joining a few social networks. You can now find the Shelby Bly Project on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and Instagram. All except the Tumblr are brand new so there isn’t much on them yet. Feel free to follow any or all for updates and more. The Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook will mostly just be updates of the project and this site but the Instagram may be something else entirely. I got the idea from a friend of mine; the Instagram account isn’t that of the Project but is Shelby’s personal account. I think I can have some fun with that and promote the project at the same time. I just need to plan out a little what I’m going to post and whatnot. There’s nothing there yet but you could go ahead and follow it now and be notified once I do post something… I mean, when Shelby posts something. 🙂
I’m now finishing up converting the remaining assets I had finished last year from Firefly to Superfly; mostly props, locations, and creatures with a few more supporting characters. Once I get those all converted, I’ll start work on brand new concepts and assets for the novel while also working on storyboards. I also plan to work on more promotional artworks to test out the concepts and assets I’ve been creating to make sure everything will work the way I need it to when I need it to. I doubt I’ll recreate (or redux) anymore of my previous promotional artworks so any future promo art will be brand new. I’ll be updating this site again in the coming days so remember to check back often or join the social media feeds so you don’t miss a thing. Thanks for viewing!
