Welcome to the New Site
After far too long of a hiatus, I’m finally back to work on the Shelby Bly Project! A lot has happened in the digital art world since last year including the release of Poser 12 with the improvement of the Superfly render engine plus my ability to utilize it. This led to a dilemma; do I upgrade all of my project assets to Superfly or keep them as-is? All of the assets I’ve created for the novel so far are for the Firefly render engine which takes longer to render and doesn’t give as good of results. Superfly looks far better and renders in a fraction of the time. Although it will take some time to update all the assets I’ve so far created for the novel, I do believe that this will save me time in the long-run when it comes time to render the panels for the novel in Superfly. I’ll post an example below so you can compare the old Firefly version of Shelby to the new Superfly version of Shelby.

I have converted almost nine characters to Superfly so far and will soon start on some props and locations. I’ll be adding the new converted concepts to this site as they are created in the Concept Art section. (If you want to stay up to date, feel free to subscribe to this blog to be notified whenever a new post is posted by entering your email address in the little subscribe box at the very bottom right of this page where it says “Subscribe to Blog via Email”.) Once all the conversions are completed, I’ll get to work on finishing the rest of the needed concept art for the novel so I can finally start on those illustrations. Oh, I do need to do storyboards before illustrations but I’ll get to that right after if not before I finish all the concept art and needed assets.
I also want to work on a new promotional artwork or two or so. I’m either going to recreate one or more of the older ones in Superfly and/or create something brand new. I haven’t really decided yet. Once I get more of my novel’s assets converted, I’ll make up my mind and get to creating something artsy. Whatever I end up creating in terms of promotional art will also be added to this site in the Promotional Art section.
I think pretty much everything on this site is brand new as I did little copy/paste and most of the time I just rewrote everything for this brand new site. Please have a look around and see for yourself. 🙂 I’ll be updating more and adding more as the days go by so please check back often. Thank you for viewing!
