Location Summary

This is the luxurious office of GEEVA CEO Volos Vritra which is located near the top of the main tower of the GEEVA Towers complex. The office was decorated to the specifications of Mr. Vritra himself and reflects his elegant yet extravagant style.

Behind the Scenes

This is the first Superfly render of the GEEVA CEO Office. Wow, this does look spectacular in Superfly! I had to go over and redo just about every material in the room but it was so worth it. Although I did have to use rather high render settings to achieve this look. I’ll experiment more with lower settings to see just what I can get away with though not too many scenes take place in this office so maybe I don’t need to worry. I also need to point out that my mom helped me with decorating this office. The original rug I had picked out for the office looked awful and she helped me pick out a new one and change the colors of a few things in the room to look better. Thanks, Mom!

You may notice that the golden nameplate on the desk says “Mr. Volos Vritra” as that is who sits at that desk. I haven’t decided exactly where in the world GEEVA HQ should be located. I need it to be somewhere that is beyond reach of law enforcement or at least beyond US law enforcement. I’ll do some more research into extradition laws and such then decide on a location. While this may not be too important for the first book, an exact location will be required knowledge for the sequel.

Character Synopsis

Volos Vritra is the extremely cunning yet ruthless CEO and founder of GEEVA. GEEVA is a private contractor paramilitary corporation who specializes in weapons technologies. He has happily agreed to Blair Nimway’s plan to secure the powerful substance known as Vril for his company. Although he wonders if Blair will use the discovery of the Vril to try to take control of the company away from him, this is only a minor concern. Vritra is far more interested in whether the Vril can actually be found and what it can do for Vritra himself. He will worry about Blair and her ambitions on his company later.

Here we have the first Superfly concept of the ruthless Volos Vritra. He only has a couple of scene in the first novel (though he is an important character as the CEO of GEEVA) but he promises to have a much larger role in the planned sequel. I tried to make him look like slick super rich playboy who refuses to admit that his best years are probably behind him. I forgot to add a little gray to his hair but then again, he’s probably the type to keep it dyed jet black. I think this is the way the concept should be and should stay. For now at least.

This character has had an odd history in this project. I can’t recall if he even existed in the first version of the novel but instead came about during the 2014 rewrite. He was originally going to be an elderly Asian man with a very different name that I can no longer remember. I’m not really sure why I changed from that idea to this one. The name “Volos Vritra” was the name of the main villain in my second Star Wars fan fiction graphic novel from 2010 (Echoes of Darkness) and I think he even looked similar to this concept but I can’t remember for sure. The name was something I got off of a foreign name site. I think Vritra means “enemy snake” and Volos means “secret” so he’s secretly an enemy snake… or something like that.
